Terms and conditions
The ground rules for using this site and the free website check, plus what you may and may not expect from the report. I keep it short and readable.
Last updated on 11 september 2026. Version 1.1. This is a translation of the Dutch terms; the Dutch text prevails.
These terms apply when you use vena.digital: looking at the site, running the free website check, or reading the learning centre. By using the site you agree to them. Do read them through; I have tried to keep them as clear as I can.
Who I am
This site and the free check belong to:
- Name: Vena Digital (sole trader)
- Address: Havenstraat 21B, 1404 EL Bussum, the Netherlands
- Dutch Chamber of Commerce number: 76076032
- VAT ID: NL003037147B59
- Email: hello@vena.digital
- Phone: +31 6 10 71 42 05
What these terms cover
These terms are about using the website itself: the free website check and the guides in the learning centre. They are not about paid work, such as having a website built. Separate agreements apply to that (see paid work).
The free website check
The check gives you an automatically generated report about a website. Useful as a starting point, but note what it is and is not:
- The report is an indication, not exact truth. It is put together automatically with the help of AI and data from external services, and it may be incomplete or wrong.
- It is not professional advice (legal, financial or otherwise) and not a guarantee of results. Take it as a starting point, not a final verdict.
- I am not responsible for the accuracy, availability or changes of the external sources and AI services that feed the report.
- Amounts, scores and estimates in the report are indicative. Do not base irreversible decisions on them without checking for yourself.
About the AI in the report
Part of the report is written by AI. That means the text may sometimes contain mistakes, or state things more firmly than it should. I say so explicitly, so you know you are looking at automatically generated text. Always check important conclusions yourself before acting on them.
What you may and may not do
To keep the free service workable for everyone, the following applies:
- Only scan websites that you run yourself or have permission for.
- Do not use the site for anything unlawful, and do not try to abuse it, overload it, harvest it automatically (scraping) or rebuild it.
- I may apply a daily limit and block abuse, without announcing it beforehand.
Availability and changes
I offer the site and the check “as is” and “as available”. I promise no uninterrupted availability; there may be maintenance or a fault. I may change, limit or stop the free check and the content at any time, without any compensation being due.
Intellectual property
The content of this site (the design, the texts, the guides in the learning centre, the code and the reports) is protected by copyright and other rights, and belongs to me or to my suppliers. You may use the site and a report for your own use. You may not copy, republish, resell, adapt or systematically collect the content without my written permission. Using the check gives you no rights to the software or the underlying data. External suppliers keep their own rights.
Liability
The check is free and the report is explicitly indicative. As far as the law allows, I am not liable for damage arising from use of the site, the check or the report, including indirect damage such as lost revenue, lost savings or loss of data.
Two things I deliberately do not exclude here, because the law does not allow it and it would not be right:
- damage caused by intent or deliberate recklessness on my part;
- liability for injury or death.
If liability nonetheless arises despite the above, it is limited to a reasonable and proportionate amount, fitting the fact that the service is free.
Links to other sites
The site and the report sometimes contain links to other people’s websites. Their content and reliability are not mine to control, and I am not responsible for them.
Paid work
If you work with me on a paid engagement, for example having a website built, we record that separately in a quote or an agreement. My separate terms for engagements apply to that, which I provide at the time. These website terms do not cover it.
Privacy
How I handle your data is set out in my privacy statement. That forms part of these terms.
Governing law and competent court
Dutch law applies to these terms and to the use of the site. Any dispute is submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, with mandatory consumer law taking precedence: if you are a consumer, you keep the right to the court the law assigns you. These terms were drawn up in Dutch; that Dutch text prevails, and this English version is a translation for convenience.
Changes and version
I may amend these terms. The current version is always here, with the date next to it. This version (1.1) is from 11 september 2026. Feel free to save or print this page.
